Slapton and Torcross – truly stunning scenery, take the 3 mile drive along the beach on the coastal road and discover how the area was evacuated for Operation Tiger in WW2.

Moor Gate & Site near Ivybridge Equestrian are both good places to access the most Southern edge of Dartmoor for stunning walks. Both places are unmarked and have limited parking so refer to maps before travelling.

South Brent Village with its independent shops and cafes is a place away from the hustle and bustle with beautiful river walks leading to Woodland Trust land.

Rainy Days

Plymouth (25 minutes away) ; check out the Barbican for interesting shops and places to eat, The National Marine Aquarium, or the free museum The Box.

Exeter (30 minutes away); Exeter Cathedral, The RAMM (museum free entry), boasting a great vibe with lots of shops and places to eat in this university city.

China Blue in Totnes ( paint your own clay, shop and café) 5 minutes drive.

Endsleigh Garden Centre (12 minutes drive) An easy place to while away a few hours with its many different departments, cafes and soft play area.

Closest cinemas can be found in Paignton or Plymouth, always worth checking what is on at the
Watermark Centre in Ivybridge (10 minutes drive).
Dartmoor
​If you want to enjoy stunning scenery then Dartmoor National Park is where you should head:

A visit to Princetown in the heart of Dartmoor, with a fabulous visitor centre, cafes and the famous Dartmoor Prison Museum which is not to be missed. A good place to start a walk or bike ride.
